Lartheia is the land where the Goddess' chosen people(or rather peoples') live. In the dawn of time it consisted of only four kingdoms:-from west to north to east to south-Lendin, Teldin, Kargor, and L'Mina.
In the center of Lartheia was a massive volcano, that was like a gathering point for all magical energy-otherwise known as vlin; but I'll get to that later-and around this volcano the community of Sorcerers lived. Their city was-and still is-the largest in Lartheia, for it rings the volcano unbroken. They named their city Ussim. In the northern section of Ussim the Council of Ussim reigns supreme, being the fundamental rulers of the Sorcerers, but even they defer to the Orthodox Temple, based in southern Ussim, who are the leaders of the Goddess' religion. Women are the leaders of the Orthodox Temple, they are the Priestess-I'll explain the religion in greater detail another time.
Lendin has the most honorable history of all the nations. They are the Dragonchildren, for the nobles and some of the high ranking officers ride dragons into battle. They prospered greatly and became an Empire, soon after though Nelgia was formed on Lendin's border from its own land-that to will be discussed later.
Teldin was the most primitive of nations at first. The kingdom is extremely cold in the winter and has very mild summers. When they were attacked by the Demons, Teldin was overrun-another thing I will explain. They have since prospered, by setting up an intricate trade market.
Kargor is the most barbaric of the kingdoms. They raise surefooted mountain horses and grow the deadly kestia flower, that is used for a pain reliever and which can be used to numb a Sorcerer's powers. Kargor is a mountainous region, with its own type of government. The people are separated into clans, that all pay allegiance to one King. The Kargors bare a lasting hatred for the Dragonchildren of the west.
Finally L'Mina is one of the most peaceful places in all of Lartheia. The entire country is forested. The Druids are the female race that inhabit L'Mina and guard its borders. The Druids are peaceful by nature, but they will fight when provoked.
In the beginning Lartheia was thought to be the only land. But this notion was soon dispelled by the arrival of the Elves. The Elves traveled up from the Southern Continent (Lartheia is the name of the world as well as the landmass that the four kingdoms inhabit), to make their home between Teldin and Kargor. Since then more refugees have found their way to Lartheia, mostly landing in southern L'Mina or in southern Lendin.
